Wanda Nevada is a 1979 Western film directed by and starring Peter Fonda alongside Brooke Shields. Set in the 1950s, the story follows Beaudray Demerille (Fonda), a gambler who wins young Wanda Nevada (Shields) in a poker game. Despite their initial reluctance to be paired, the two embark on a journey through the Grand Canyon seeking a rumored gold mine. Along the way, they encounter unsavory characters while also developing a friendship with one another. The movie got dumped by United Artists and Fonda never directed again.
